There is no doubt that once you know the story behind a photo that there is a better understanding of its contents. The big challenge to photographers is to be able to tell the story with only the image. The other thing is that it is not really necessary to feel the same emotion the photographer has, but rather that a response is made that triggers off a connection to something in the viewers life or reveals information that is new to him. -- Philip Wayner

This opens up on my screen showing only the top half of the photograph; then you scroll down and see those gorgeous colors. It reminded me of being on retreat at a center in the hills above Santa Barbara. The composition and the lighting and the colors all come together to create such a feeling of calm and peace.

Fabulous! Beautiful light. I recognized this right away. I stood right there and took a photo of my niece and nephew. My niece still lives in San Pedro. So nice to see it again from your perspective.
